  • The Flying Start program is a South Australian government initiative that provides children with access to high-quality, teacher-led preschool education starting at 3 years old. At O'Briens Montessori Centre in Modbury North, the program is delivered within a Montessori learning environment that supports independence, curiosity, and early school readiness.

  • Our 3-Year-Old Preschool program through the Flying Start initiative commences in Term 3 2026. Enrolments are now open for eligible families.

  • Our Montessori 3-Year-Old & 4-Year-Old Kindergarten program encourages children to build strong foundations in independence, confidence, social development, and early literacy and numeracy. Combined with the Flying Start program; children benefit from a structured yet child-led learning environment that prepares them for a successful transition to school.

  • The Flying Start for Kids program is funded by the South Australian Government and is provided at no additional cost to families beyond usual long day care fees. At O’Briens Montessori Centre, the program is seamlessly integrated into your child’s day within our Montessori learning environment, offering the added value of a structured, government-supported preschool experience delivered through authentic Montessori practice.
